Application

For under-sink installation for designated purified drinking water. RO water is considered by many to be the best option for drinking water due to its purity, taste, and safety.

Enjoy pure, safe water with the re-mineralizing filter. This has many benefits, such as improved taste, essential minerals, pH balance, electrolyte balance, protective coating, and more, which a 4-stage system doesn't offer.

Description

The unit comes complete, including all required connections, a 16L pressure tank, and a separate drinking water tap. It is a specially designed complete 6-stage reverse osmosis system for under-bench use with mains pressure. This unit does an excellent job of eliminating undesirable contaminants, like nitrate, fluoride, and salt. The remineralizing cartridge then puts beneficial minerals back in.

The unit's membrane is capable of producing up to 189 liters per day, but in normal domestic installations with minimum pressure requirements being met, it may only produce half of that, which is sufficient for domestic use. Because RO filtration is a slow process, the water is stored in a pressure tank.

Designed in Italy, assembled in Taiwan, with components made in Italy.

Environmentally Friendly

The filter housings, made of PET, a highly recyclable plastic, are manufactured with a proprietary procedure saving up to 60% of energy in injection molding compared with standard plastics. That is one of Atlas Filtri's commitments to comply with the Kyoto Treaty for the reduction of greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions in the atmosphere.

Test Results of Water Quality After RO Membrane

(Remineralization is added after the membrane.) The membrane cannot differentiate between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ substances, so it removes both.

  • pH: 5.5-6.5
Water with a pH of 5.5-6.5 is mildly acidic, which is generally safe for drinking.
Note: The re-mineralizing cartridge is designed to increase pH and reintroduce beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium back into the water.
  • TDS: 5-15 ppm
A Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) measurement of 5-15 parts per million (ppm) is exceptionally low and typically considered excellent for drinking water quality. Water with such a low TDS concentration generally tastes very pure and is often preferred for drinking. It indicates that the water has very few dissolved minerals, salts, and other contaminants, resulting in a clean and refreshing taste.
  • Calcium: <2 ppm
A calcium concentration of less than 2 parts per million (ppm) in water is exceptionally low and typically considered excellent. Calcium is one of the minerals commonly found in water, contributing to water hardness. While calcium is essential for human health, excessively high levels of calcium in drinking water can lead to scale buildup in pipes, appliances, and fixtures. Having a calcium concentration of less than 2 ppm indicates very soft water, which is generally preferred for household use because it reduces the likelihood of scale buildup and may also provide a more refreshing taste. However, it's important to note that extremely low levels of calcium may not provide sufficient dietary intake of this essential mineral, so it's essential to consider overall dietary sources of calcium when evaluating water quality.
Note: The re-mineralizing cartridge is designed to reintroduce beneficial minerals like calcium back into the water.
  • Magnesium: <1 ppm
A magnesium concentration of less than 1 part per million (ppm) in water is also exceptionally low and generally considered excellent. Similar to calcium, magnesium is a mineral commonly found in water that contributes to water hardness. While magnesium is essential for human health, excessively high levels of magnesium in drinking water can lead to water hardness and potential scale buildup issues. Having a magnesium concentration of less than 1 ppm indicates very soft water, which, as mentioned earlier, is typically preferred for household use due to reduced scale buildup and potentially better taste.
Note: The re-mineralizing cartridge is designed to reintroduce beneficial minerals like magnesium back into the water.
  • Sodium + Potassium: <5 ppm
Having a combined concentration of sodium and potassium of less than 5 ppm indicates very low levels of these minerals in water, which is typically considered beneficial for overall health, particularly for those who need to limit their sodium intake. Water with such low concentrations of sodium and potassium is often preferred for drinking and cooking, as it contributes minimal additional sodium or potassium to the diet.

Note: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

*Values are determined under the following conditions: the temperature of supply water is 25 °C (77 °F), supply water quality, and operation conditions correspond to the manufacturer’s requirements.

Stages

  1. Stage 1: 5 Micron Sediment Filter
PP Melt Blown Polyspun Sediment Filter.
The filter will remove sediment, rust, and fine particles. This filter is designed to protect the remainder of the system from particles.
    Life span: 6 - 12 months.
    Max temperature: 45°C (113°F).
  2. Stage 2: Granular Activated Carbon Purifier
CTO, Chlorine, Taste, and Odor Reduction.
This cartridge contains granular activated carbon to reduce chlorine (bad tastes, odors), herbicides, pesticides, and traces of heavy metals.
    Life span: 6-12 months.
    Max temperature: 45°C (113°F).
  3. Stage 3: 5 Micron Carbon Block Filter/Purifier
Chlorine, Taste, Odor, and Sediment Reduction.
This is an activated carbon block filter/purifier that will filter sediment, rust, and fine particles. It will also reduce chlorine (bad tastes, odors), herbicides, pesticides, and traces of heavy metals.
    Life span: 6-12 months.
    Max temperature: 45°C (113°F).
  4. Stage 4: Reverse Osmosis Membrane
Membrane for the main impurity removal.
The membrane has pores that are so small that only pure water makes it through to the other side, effectively removing undesirable contaminants like nitrate, fluoride, arsenic, and salt.
Lifespan depends on the level of impurities in water and incoming pressure, but under normal circumstances, the membrane is expected to last 2-4 years.
  5. Stage 5: Carbon Post Filter
The carbon post filter’s main job is to give the water a final polish and improve the taste of the water after it has passed through the membrane and has been stored in the tank.
    Life span: 6-12 months.
    Max temperature: 45°C (113°F).
  6. Stage 6: Re-Mineralize
A remineralizer is generally used to add beneficial minerals back into water, particularly after a process like reverse osmosis, which can remove most minerals. This can sometimes result in a slight increase in pH, making the water less acidic. However, the main purpose is not to reduce pH but to improve the mineral content and taste of the water.
    Life span: 6 months.
    Max temperature: 45°C (113°F).

Very happy with the unit and setup!

After doing the rounds online, we decided to buy this unit as it ticked a lot of boxes for us. 6 stages, good quality, good access to replacement filters, good price and good customer service from John and his team.

The unit arrived within days, and after studying the installation instructions for an hour and placing everything out on the floor, we decided to give the installation a go.

The unit came with everything we needed, except for the 12mm drill bit to fit the faucet and thread tape for all the fittings, so we had to go to Mitre10 to get these, and we also bought an extra stainless steel spring washer and flat washer as there seemed to be one piece missing in the faucet set. Not a major, just hard to figure out which piece it was missing as the graphic explaining the pieces wasn't super helpful.

Once we had these, we went at it, and everything came together pretty smoothly. We had a little trouble with the press fit pipe fittings, but that came down to our inexperience in using them, not a fault with the parts themselves. We also made the mistake of not tightening down the RO cartridge lid enough, so once it got pressure, it started to leak out. Again, our fault not the unit fault, it's just we had this problem because the pipe didn't line up with the press fit fitting if the cartridge lid was fully tight, so we had to remove the pipe and cut a slightly longer one and route it ourselves. Easy stuff.

Once these problems were solved, we let the unit run for 20 mins to clear out the system and boom, tasty fresh water.

Everyone in the house is super happy and noticed the difference straight away.

Here's to a future with ACTUAL clean water!

Thanks John for your help. I highly recommend this product.

Fantastic!

I only wish I had installed this years ago. With the upcoming mandated fluoridation of my families town water supply, it was the last straw. I had been humming about installing a drinking water filtration system for a while. I have no regrets, it was a simple install for myself with moderate plumbing skills and tools available. I installed it to both the on bench tap (that was provided) and through to the fridge water and ice dispenser as well, i had to purchase a T join ($10). I had very low flow at the fridge but this was resolved by buying a fridge filter bypass plug ($85).
The storage tank system is a must, and provides surprisingly good volume for about 5-6 litres before flow drops, which is plenty, as to not leave you filling a glass of water under a trickle.

We were going to do a blind taste test, but the difference was so blatantly obvious, after drinking the filtered water for a few days, just raising the glass of regular tap water to my face, and my wife did also, we could instantly smell the stench of chlorine. God knows, what other nasties we no longer drink. Unfortunately we still have to wash in it.

I did alot of research and I think this 6 stage Oasis system with the remineralastion, is the best and cost of filter replacements, and availability.
If I replace all the filters at 6 month intervals (max recommended life) and the membrane at 3 years (recommended is 2-4max). At current pricing it is a yearly cost of $512 per year. Not my cheapest bill but by far not my most expensive, nevertheless a bill i'm happy to pay to have spring quality water at the tap my young family to drink. A much better option than buying water in plastic bottles.

If you're on the fence, here's a simple question. A billionaire goes to a restaurant, the waiter asks. "Still, sparkling or tap water?" It's only ever option 1 or 2, and it always comes in a glass bottle.
Do you really think they would ever drink a city or town's 10 times recycled and chemically treated tap water? No, they would not.
